About the picture: We (Bill Hammond and myself) are installing a solar panel in the high Sierra west of Lake Tahoe. The panel powers a GPS station that measures surface displacements. The station is part of a network in an area north of Lake Tahoe, where recent magma intrusion in the Earth's crust have caused non-linear surface displacements detected so far on Slide Mountain (east of Lake Tahoe).
